THE KE’ANAE PENNINSULA.

This peninsula was formed from lava spewing out of Haleakala and pouring down into the ocean. If you stop at the Wailua Wayside Overlook, you will be able to see the ancient, cliff flanked, lava pathway, Ko’olau Gap, which is nowadays almost completely covered by vegetation. If you stop by Hana Picnic Co at the start of your trip you will be able to get all the supplies and information on places of interest along the Road to Hana.
