This is Maui’s largest ancient temple site. It is built entirely from surrounding lava rocks and is easily the largest site in Hawaii that is still intact. It dates back to the 14th century and is associated with the Pi’ilani Dynasty. The stone platform is 340 ft. by 415 ft. and covers almost 3 acres! Undiscovered until late 1970, the site has remained in excellent condition.
